Brian commenced his professional
career as a structural design engineer after graduating
from the University of Adelaide with a Bachelor
of Technology (Civil Eng.). He then moved to construction
and civil engineering design prior to establishing
the practice in 1972. Since that time he has had
extensive experience in the land development process
including a significant number of total project
management assignments involving large-scale land
subdivision. Brian assists in all projects undertaken
by PGA, working through difficulties to seek solutions
that ensure maximum benefit to the client.
Brian completed a Graduate Diploma in Highway and
Traffic Engineering (1981) with a major thesis on
“The Rationale of Residential Street Design
in Australia". From this he was invited to
participate in the committee chaired by the Australian
Road Research Board investigating the structural
design of residential pavements in Australia.
Brian recently served on a committee appointed by
Melbourne Water Corporation to develop an Operating
Charter for the Waterways and Drainage Group, is
a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers Australia,
and is a Division Committee member of the Victorian
Division of the Institution. He is a member of the
College of Civil Engineers, a Past President of
the Association of Land Development Engineers, a
member of the General Sir John Monash Foundation.
Brian also holds a commercial pilot license with
multi-engine command instrument rating, which he
uses to fly PGA’s light aircraft to any projects
in remote areas.
