This is an Urban Land Corporation Project with which
we have been involved since mid 1995. It is on land
formerly owned by the City of Monash and one which
was developed and project managed by the Corporation
on behalf of itself and its joint venture partner,
the City of Monash.
PGA were engaged as the project engineers and it
is a project with major constraints associated with
its development.
These constraints include the relocation of an existing
high voltage transmission power line over the South
Eastern Freeway and high voltage overhead lines
through the estate, the design and construction
of a major wet retarding basin and wetlands system
to further enhance the pre-existing stormwater quality,
the relocation of major drainage and sewerage services
through the project.
The incorporation of appropriate noise abatement
structures along the South Eastern Freeway, relocation
of part of the existing tennis club facilities,
and the construction of additional tennis courts
and carparking.
All these aspects have been handled within the framework
of a sensitive political and public perspective.
Construction of the last Stage
of this estate has now been completed and brings
to conclusion a brilliant project that was recognised
by the Engineering profession through the most prestigious
awards in the engineering and allied professions
with the winning of the Melbourne City Council sponsored
Urban Development Award of Excellence for 1999.
The project also received the UDIA 1999 Award of
Excellence for Residential Estates with more than
200 lots but less than 399 lots.
